Mapping My Victoria
What are the impressions and needs related to the square, coming from its people? What kind of collective narrative can be created and how can it be expressed in the public domain?
This Saturday, December 15th, we will be in Victoria Square inviting audience and passers-by to "map" the neighborhood!
From 14:00 to 17:00 we will create a three-dimensional grid of stories on the square, with everyday objects such as wood, yarns, colors, papers, glue etc. Then we will move the installation to Victoria Square Project, where we will collectively transform it into a two-dimensional map until 18:00, leading to the rest of the program:
18:00-19:00: Screening of selected short films produced by students of the Visual Ethnography Summer School, Ethnofest - Netherlands Insitute at Athens (NIA). 19:00-21:00: Dinner and discussion on the neighbourhood
The action is joined by Click Ngwere's local knitting team.
This action, titled "My Victoria", is organized by SynAthina and is part of the Curing the Limbo program for refugee integration, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the Urban Innovative Actions initiative.
If it rains, the activity will be hosted in Victoria Square Project, 13 Elpidos, Athens.
